The Black Dragon forge is devoted to the manufacture of functional, and beautifully made bladed armament from all periods of history, parts of the world, as well as fantasy weaponry. Your design or mine, I can make your dreams in steel come true. On the next pages are a few examples of my work, more pictures will be coming soon of more recent works of the forge. We also offer high quality practice versions of our weapons, available in hardwoods, 6061 aircraft aluminum, or in high impact durable plastics for live practice with other students. Our "live steel" blades are made from A-2 tool steel for our stock removal blades, or from O-1 or O-6 tool steel for our forged blades, and some of our stock removal blades, where applicable, and 1075 Spring Steel for our throwing knives. Our blades are hardened to between 57 Rc and 58 Rc hardness, and 55 Rc for our throwing knives, then spring tempered. They are made to be "workhorse blades" in the long run, and intended for the "average person" who doesn't have a fortune to spend on a blade, to have a good, reliable blade suited to their martial art, or their taste, as the case may be.
Our Guarantee
All of these blades are guaranteed for life, against warping, chipping, and damage, so long as they are not deliberately abused and used for their intended purpose. If the blade ever warps, cracks, or is damaged beyond use under normal useage, the blade will be replaced free of charge, after inspection of the blade to determine the cause of failure. Abuse constitutes purposely engaging in "swordplay" with another sword edge to edge ( a big no-no, you stop a blade with the side or spine of the blade, never the edge), attempting to use the blade as a pry-bar, hitting concrete or brick, etc. unless the blade is specifically designed to be used as a survival tool. Knives – PayPal generally prohibits transactions for switchblade knives and disguised knives. A switchblade is any knife resembling a pocketknife with a blade that can be released automatically or by use of a trigger. A disguised knife is a knife designed to look like a harmless item. Examples of disguised knives include belt buckle knives, cane swords, shinobi-zue, lipstick case knives, air gauge knives, and writing pen knives.
